Rockery // London // Stella McCartney
Conceived as in organic intervention, an unexpected moment in the centre of the city, the rockery forms draws people in through a large single pane of glass from the very traditional shopping street of Old Bond street. Stones were carefully selected and moments carved and polished to create tension between the rough hewn, wind and rain battered rocks and the human/machine intervention cutting and polishing.
"I like the fact that every stone is different, one from another, in the same way all fingerprints, or snowflakes (or places) are unique, so no two circles can be alike." Richard Long 1994
